Zwiebel rot / Onions Red 10kg

This is a bulk 10 kg bag of red onion, called lal pyaz in Hindi and rote Zwiebel in German. It has thin purple-red skin over white flesh with purple rings, sharp and pungent raw, sweeter once cooked.

It suits households and small kitchens that go through onions quickly, for curry bases, salads such as kachumber, and fried garnishes like biryani birista.

How to use

• Keep the bag in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight.
• Check occasionally and use any softening or sprouting onions first.
• Whole onions stored this way keep for several weeks.
